Born in 1929, Kazumasa Nagai is an award winning Japanese designer who has used traditional Japanese artistic styles and values in his work throughout his long career. He communicates his messages using simplicity, elegance, texture and color. He has also been very involved in designing for environmental activism and design. I think his stuff is simply brilliant and more people should be aware of his work.

Street artist turned entrepreneur, Kaws is kind of a legend who’s now getting his due as a pop art kingpin. He’s gone from pasting up his memorable characters illegally on street corners to showing in galleries, doing album covers for Kanye West and Clipse, designing blinged out chains for Pharrell and making vinyl toys and clothing through his company OriginalFake. You can buy some of his products at his site Kawsone.
Jonah Samson is a Seattle based photographer who builds intricate sets of often disturbing imagery and then photographs them. Most of the pictures shown here are from his Pleasantville series. This guy’s got a wonderfully dark mind. Check out more at his site little chicken dog.
