Deep Into the Woods

Woods are the latest of the indie lo-fi garage bands to release an album to critical acclaim. And for good reason. Their new album Songs of Shame is immediate, catchy, and personal all at the same time. However, they take a different approach to lo-fi than their peers and Woodsist Records label mates (Vivian Girls, Wavves, Crystal Stilts, Sic Alps, Kurt Vile). Their’s is a sound more, well, woodsy. You could say they’re the psych-folk arm of the lo-fi scene. Ha. That was a ridiculous sentence. Regardless, it’s an excellent album. There’s alot of talent swimming around in this lo-fi pool.
